What kind of relationship issues and personal struggles could we work on together? Over the years, I have had the opportunity of helping those struggling with:
- Stress and anxiety, including excessive worry and panic attacks
- Depression and unresolved grief
- Low self-esteem
- Shyness or loneliness
- Trauma
- Debilitating procrastination and perfectionism
- Moodiness and emotional over-reactivity
- Bipolar Disorder and psychosis
I especially enjoy working with individuals undergoing an identity shift or life transition such as relocating, getting in touch with one’s sexual orientation, gender identity and ethnic or racial roots, or entering into or leaving partnership, parenthood or career.
For some, it is hard to enter therapy due to an understandable mistrust of the psychological establishment and its mixed history of discrimination and bias. Maybe you have sought help in the past but have never found a safe fit with a mainstream therapist due this failure to provide a truly nonjudgmental space.
- You don’t want to have your personal politics or your lifestyle pathologized.
- You are looking for a therapist who will work with your values and commitments, treating them as a source of strength to draw from and refine rather than something to ignore and even question.
I strive to provide a truly safe and nonjudgmental place for you to explore and refine your ideals, desires and dreams however much they may run counter to the established norm.
